The history of Nzuddi Siciliani biscuits

Nzuddi are sweets typical of the Messina province. They were prepared in the monastery by Vincentian nuns. The name “Nzuddi” would come from the abbreviation of Vincenzo’s name, which in Sicilian is Vincinzuddu. “Nzuddi” is typical of Messina sweets, available all year round in the city’s patisseries and bakeries. Traditionally prepared during the feast of Madonna della Lettera, the city’s patron saint. are on the occasion of Day of the Dead and All Saints.
